Use the source for what it can establish
An official report can document its findings. An agency statement establishes what the agency announced. A news report may contain interviews and records that require attribution. A complaint describes allegations; a judgment supplies a court’s disposition.
Each evidence page links the material supporting its account. Source notes identify the publisher, date and access limitations. An official biography or announcement is not presented as an independent evaluation.
Keep responses and outcomes with the account
Material denials, corrective measures, recusals and later developments belong alongside the original event. The site distinguishes promised improvements from verified completion and reported concerns from findings of wrongdoing.
An unanswered question is labelled as a research gap. It is not used to imply misconduct without evidence.
What this edition covers
This edition covers career context, the data exposure, budget oversight, charitable fundraising, Viridis Fuels, reported legal expenses and Oakland Promise governance, alongside a finance guide. This is a selected record, not a complete assessment of Bonta’s career.
Historical event dates and the date a source was reviewed are different. Reviewing a 2023 article today does not establish current committee assignments. Current financial totals remain outside this edition’s verified findings.
Corrections and additional evidence
A correction should identify the page, the disputed sentence and a source that changes the account. Material changes should preserve previous wording and explain the correction in the review log.
This staging site has no submission form. No public corrections inbox has been configured. The footer identifies the paying committee; photo captions link to their sources.
Image provenance
Photographs of Bonta are attributed to California DOJ. Building, coastline and archive photographs carry individual source and license credits. These are context images, not evidence of the events discussed. The homepage also reproduces covers of the cited DOJ investigation and FPPC report. Interior AI-generated illustrations remain labeled and do not reproduce actual filings.
